Only four stars bcuz there is no primitive campgrounds available. Only RV camping (which isn't camping to me!) at this spot. Otherwise it's a nice place to visit. They have kayak and paddle board rentals there during the day. They have a nice day area that you can check out before passing the $10 entrance fee if you'd like to. Overall it's a nice fork of lake Lewisville.
This place is awesome. Spots are all nice. The park was full and yet it was still very quiet at night. Lake is HUGE. Stores are all a short distance away. Truly loved it here
Great campsites with electric, water, sewer, clean picnic tables, fire pits, BBQ grills, lantern posts. Nice trees & shoreline. The day area has awesome picnic and group facilities, pavilions, kayak & paddle board rentals, and boat ramp. The staff is awesome!
1 star removed for charging $10 entry fee. Granted, that cash rolling in looks like it's being put to good use, except for the one and only bathroom. What's up with the paddle board renter that thinks they own the beach??!
The years have not been kind to this once lovely camping spot. I brought my children here 25 years ago whenever we were nearby. I spent my honey moon there. Now every square inch is taken up with rv's side by side with little to no break between the sites. You can walk through nature nearby, but you can't camp in it.
